St. Luke LWML Mission Project

Help Wanted!

With the donations made by the St. Luke Congregation, LWML members, and a grant from Thrivent for Lutherans we will be assembling 1000 Personal Care Kits on Saturday October 1 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

To successfully complete this task we will need 40 – 50 people helping.

You need not stay the entire time and please bring any friends, neighbors, or relatives who might want to help.

Also, on Friday September 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. we need help from about 15 people to set up for the October 1 assembly.

If you are able to help on either or both of these occasions please RSVP with Sherry Calvert at CALVERT7533@roadrunner.com or 909 949 9699.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to help complete the 2016 LWML Mission Project!

St. Luke LWML Mission Project

The St. Luke Lutheran Women’s Missionary League selected a Mission Project to benefit school children in countries where there are no buildings for children to be educated and they have no supplies. Lutheran World Relief distributes school kits to areas where the demand is greatest. The St. Luke LWML set a goal of assembling a minimum of 300 school kits to send through Lutheran World

Relief. Members of LWML have already donated hundreds of dollars throughout the year for this purpose. The supplies for each school kit will cost between $6 – $6.50. What we are also excited about is the opportunity for every individual in the St. Luke community to participate in the assembly of these kits.

On Saturday September 26 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. there will be a Marathon School Kit Assembly. People can stop by for 10 minutes or stay for an hour anytime during the day. This will be a chance for all of us to interact and do good at the same time. The St. Luke LWML is hoping that members of the congregation who can afford to do so will make donations to cover the cost for any given number of kits. We need to order the supplies no later than mid-July. There will be additional information to come!
